An old neglected and crumbling barn on a family member’s farm. It hasn’t been used in probably 20 years now.

This was in the Fukuoka area, I like how the colors ended up coming out, bit eerie feeling.

This was at Iidabashi Station in the Tokyo area.

So, uhhh, yeah. Why process Phoenix II in black and white? Well, let’s call it a happy little accident. The lab messed up and thought that it was black and white film. After the initial confusion, I was very surprised that there were somehow photos here. After finding out what happened the lab did a bit more to it, presumably to make sure that it remains stable.

My second attempt with Harman Phoenix 200, this time I metered most shots around 125 or 100 iso, which worked quite a bit better. Though I still had more under than overexposed shots.

A picture of the former Kakola prison, now converted to a hotel. The view from the serpentine road up the hill to it is one of my favorite spots in Turku, and a location I’ve photographed multiple times when testing out cameras.

The fact that it’s behind fences, next to gravel, dirt, trash. The only flowers are the ones that are painted on the wall says a lot. The hope we have is the hope that we create.

My first time shooting a film stock with an insane iso like this, previously I hadn’t gone for anything higher than iso 400 and mostly colour. I also pushed myself a bit out of my comfort zone with the 28mm, as I rarely feel comfortable shooting below 50mm.

Playing with some still lifes in my bedroom. Single light from a cheap desk lamp. I think the exposure was something like 12 seconds.

I took this on New Years Eve with my Graflex Speed Graphic 4x5 camera that I recently restored.

I’ve always been frustrated about film scanning being locked behind a paywall or generic AI slop. I’ve tried to make this as system agnostic as I can. Please give me feedback so that I can improve this article. Thanks in advance!

Hello beginner photographers like me exploring black-and-white film developing…

I love the creative constraints of film, but I also like instantaneousness of digital. Instax strikes a nice balance between the two imo, though I’ll likely eventually get into film. I don’t know a ton about Polaroid history, but I believe instant camera SLRs are not that common? Combine that with that fact that the NONS SL660 supports interchangeable lenses, and I think it’s a one of a kind camera - correct me if I’m wrong. Anyway, I’m excited to unlock the secrets of this camera.

Probably taken with the 50mm prime, but maybe with the 28mm. Scanned using my Olympus EM-5 Mk II with the Olympus 14-42mm pancake zoom. Processed in Darktable.

Film shot at box speed, stand developed with Rodinal. This is the location of the old Crichton-Vulkan shipyard in Turku, which used to be a major shipbuilder in Finland. Some of the most significant ships to get built here were e.g. the submarines used by the Finnish navy in WWII, first of which was originally built as a prototype for the Reichsmarine. It’s still possible to go see one of them, CV-707 or Vesikko, in Suomenlinna where it’s on display.

Picture taken from Renforsin ranta in Kajaani, a location of a former paper mill now housing the Finnish supercomputers as well as LUMI, a jointly owned machine that was the fastest in Europe back in 2023 when it was built.

Added fresh batteries and some film and going to see how they turn out. Crazy find.

I’m amazed at how this ended up. Most of the other low-light shots with this camera turned out as a complete blurry mess. It’s not sharp by any means, but with the conditions and a moving carousel it went quite well.

I am getting started with film - shooting, developing, processing - so it’s not perfect, yet. But I like the result.

Shooting my first roll of Delta 3200 went well. The development, however, did not. In this picture there are examples of bent film, fingerprints, film getting wet when being put onto the spiral and sticking to itself – but they end up looking quite cool in my opinion.

Rodenstock Rodagon f135mm/5.6 DIY Camera Kodak Tri-X 400 120 Developed in FX-39 II

Shot on my OM-4 with the Zuiko 35mm f/2.8. I’m really impressed how good NC500 can look with a bit of overexposure. Sure, its not as “true to life” as kodaks or fujis offerings but its new colour film and thats great!

The lens is a Rodenstock Sironar f135mm/5.6, and the back is a Horseman 6x8cm roll film back, originally for a large format camera. I bought a 65mm focusing tubus, flange adapter and copal adapter and printed a ring with the correct focusing markings for this lens. The grip is a standard grip for camera cages. The viewfinder is originally from a different camera, and covers a bit more viewing angle than the lens. The interior of the body is painted with musou black.
