Where is Central Anatolia? /s
Modern day Turkey.
I thought about putting ‘Turkiye’ in there, but something about 1350 BCE being long before the arrival of Turks felt like I would have to explain it at some point, and I didn’t feel like it XD
I mean, it’s the historical standard, unfortunately. I’m just butthurt because it took me WAAAAY to long to learn that Antioch was currently Antakya, and lots of places in the middle east are separated from their older names in order to discredit the history and heritage that passed in that area. I don’t think people would be so gung ho about starting shit in the middle east if they knew Bethlehem was in Palestine, that when you invade Iraq, you are opening fire on Mesapotemia, and the Persians that everyone knows is currently Iran.
It’s like saying “Ah yes, one of the key locations for the Industrial Revolution was Pons Aelius, in the Danelaw.”
Like yeah, it’s the same place, and I’m being an asshole by mixing eras, but it’s a good enough example. It’s fucking Newcastle, in case anyone else doesn’t know what the fuck Pons Aelius or Danelaw are.
That axe/hatchet is awesome!
"After the battle, how about we go get some Dondurma?"
Triplets, it looks like.
Great piece, but I’m always a little let down when the artist isn’t good at varying faces.
