Our income hasn’t grown with inflation because we own less of it. Most of us don’t own a home but own debt. Most of our income is taxed away before we can even accumulate any real type of wealth. Meanwhile, the uber-wealthy don’t need an income because their wealth just keeps growing without being taxed.
