There’s reason to believe that this was intended, for purposes of insider trading. If so, they did learn, they’re just that evil.
The US dollar has no value based on any standard, is printed on mass, and has now proven to be unreliable from a country in an out of control debt spiral, while the wealthy flog it harder.
If you moosh the Roman and Spanish Empires together, it’s identical to their final days. At this point it was too late and I don’t see the US having the humility to manage their downfall as England did.
The only part now is “when?” Can’t be far off.
The difference is that we now have nukes. I don’t think it’s going to be just a gradual fall. It’ll be a major destructive event.
What’s the plan there, though? Hold the world’s economies hostage to a list of demands?

No, there’s no hostage-taking, merely retaliation. Replace our army with loyalists to the regime (which is ongoing), and then if another nation or coalition does something we disagree with, disconnect them from our infrastructure (internet access, satellite access, etc.), then drop a few nukes on their biggest population center. Continue as if nothing happened. Make no statements.
Nukes are pretty much off the table, Cold War proved MAD works. Only people worried are the younger folks who didn’t live under the threat of instant annihilation. Weird times the 80s, we didn’t care or think on it much.

You understand there are at least 2 players involved in MAD? Also, the Soviet Union ordered two missile strikes, and the commanders involved refused. Neither Trump nor Putin had a magic nuclear button.

Nah, remember the US dollar detached from the gold standard in 1971. It’s been “trust me, bro” ever since. Which, coincidentally, was the downfall of the British Empire combined with their huge national debt backing on nothing. Another fallen empire the US is in an identical position with. That’s 3/3 identical situations that triggered economic ruin. All three empires collapsed from within, not from any foreign power.

Hum… That blog page just says they are short-lived, with no supporting evidence, and lists 5 examples. At the same time there’s about a hundred fiat currencies alive today that are almost all older than that average age it claims.
